Outsourcing the Fast-food Drive-thru?

It's true, there are now call centers taking orders at your local McDonalds' drive-thrus.

So far, these call centers are in America, but, what if they were sent to India or to another country? It's already tough enough to understand what is being said when a native English speaking person talks to us through the speaker when they are there in the same building.

What would it be like to speak with someone with a heavy accent talking to us from 10,000 miles away on the other side of the globe?

It's a slippery slope folks. The world is no longer as we once knew it...


(okay, that was a little more dramatic than needed, but I felt like it.)
